Meeting of the Minds: Advisory Board Meeting Members Share Best Practice Ideas and Thoughts for the Future
Nine physician executives from agilon health’s anchor partner practices and several agilon health leaders came together in Austin in mid-June to benefit from each other’s experience in managing large prosperous practices for growth, for managing total cost of care in a full risk environment and ultimately for capturing the hearts and minds of their physicians and creating fulfilling and prosperous practice environments.
The agenda for the two-day event included a thought-provoking guest speaker from the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, a discussion of industry headwinds and tailwinds, presentations from each market on clinical and cost of care initiatives and a panel discussion featuring local specialists who are aligning with the Austin market in managing their Medicare Advantage patients in collaboration with agilon health.
Continuing to attract high quality primary care talent to leading independent primary care practices was among the topics discussed in light of the trends presented by the CEO of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, Tom Banning. Creating recruiting and new physician training tools were identified as high priority next steps.
