Addition of New Executives Brings Even Greater Depth to the Organization
agilon health is adding an impressive lineup of new executives to its leadership team. Tim Bensley has joined as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining agilon health, Tim served as the CFO at Blue Apron, a $500 million public e-commerce company. Tim also held various management roles with and ultimately served as the CFO of PepsiCo Americas Foods, a PepsiCo division with $23 billion in revenue.
Ted Halkias, who previously served as Chief Financial Officer for agilon health, has now taken on a critical role as Chief Business Officer. Ted will lead mergers and acquisitions and oversee capital deployment, managed care finance, and additional strategic initiatives. He will also leverage his extensive knowledge of physician groups and work closely with Ben Kornitzer, M.D., Chief Medical and Quality Officer, to further drive performance improvements.
As the new Chief Technology Officer, Girish Venkatachaliah brings more than 20 years of experience driving transformation in health care by leveraging technology, data analytics, and innovation. Before joining agilon health, Girish served as the VP of Data Strategy, Analytics, and AI/ML at Athenahealth. His healthcare experience also includes his work as a Partner at Frazier Healthcare Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm. He also had a 17-year career at IBM, where he was responsible for overseeing a portfolio of cloud offerings, including Watson Machine Learning.
In March, Kevin Spencer, M.D., joined agilon health as Chief Clinical Officer. In his new role, Dr. Spencer will focus on engaging prospective partners and the onboarding of new partners as well as continue to work closely with Doctors Kornitzer and Carne in providing additional medical leadership for the organization. In the past three years, he served as Medical Director for the agilon health Texas market. Previously, Dr. Spencer was the CEO and now serves as Chairman of the Board at Premier Physicians. He also is the Founder and President of Southwest Provider Accountable Care Organization.
