Mitchell Brodey, M.D., CEO of FamilyCare Medical Group Interviewed About Secondary Health Care Crisis Resulting from COVID-19

Mitchell Brodey, M.D., CEO of FamilyCare Medical Group, Syracuse, was quoted along with agilon health Chief Medical Officer Ben Kornitzer, M.D. in news stories about how the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a surge in deaths due to delayed diagnostic procedures and treatments. The stories appeared in the Rome Sentinel and In Good Health.

Most recently, researchers have noticed a substantial increase in the number of cancer deaths, citing neglected healthcare due to fears of contracting the virus as a leading cause. Says Dr. Brodey, “Unfortunately, cancer and other medical conditions have not taken a holiday during the pandemic, and so we must remain vigilant. In terms of cancer screenings, this is particularly critical for high-risk patients.”

In addition to highlighting Dr. Brodey’s interview, we’d like to welcome FamilyCare Medical Group to the agilon health platform.
