What is your role with agilon health today?

I am a Medical Economics Analyst.

Tell us about your career journey

Upon graduating college, I had a desire to use my economic degree and apply it in the healthcare realm but knew that I needed to develop certain skills to step into that role; after considering all avenues with my mentors, we decided a great place to start and gain an understanding of healthcare would be Underwriting. In 2016, I began my career with Highmark Inc., in their commercial underwriting department. After gaining a solid understanding in this space and being promoted, I was recruited to a project management role

where I led two projects focusing on updating our largest client’s benefit plans for the following year. Upon completion of my second project, I was given the opportunity to be recruited to the Medical Economic team. After a year in this role, my family introduced our first daughter, and I decided to take a similar role working remotely to have more time with my family. This desire to stay in Medical Economics while having additional time with my family is what led me to agilon health. My time here so far has been incredibly humbling, and I look forward to the future knowing that I am part of a great team that provides the resources to learn and grow at my own pace, all while working for a company aligned in our values.
