New Virtual Nutritional Classes Putting Patients on Weight-Loss Track

Research shows having obesity may triple the risk of hospitalization for COVID-19 patients. As BMI increases, the risk of death from COVID-19 increases.  Because of the increasing demand for nutritional counseling for patients, Pioneer Physician Network is offering virtual classes given by registered dieticians as part of its Nutrition Services program. Dieticians will help patients make personalized, positive lifestyle changes. Individual appointments and diabetic self-management classes are also available. The five-week program includes weekly virtual classes to help educate patients on topics such as carbohydrates and heart health. The classes also provide practical guidance for meal planning and tips for cooking and grocery shopping. Click here for more details.
