What is your role with agilon health today?

I deal with all things attribution and membership for the Central Region: Columbus, Akron, Pittsburgh, Southeast Ohio, and Dayton. Our team takes the membership data from the health plans and the partner groups to analyze current state, previous state, and analyze the opportunities. We then work with the Market to correct the opportunities and track the progress. This involves a lot of data management as well as operations knowledge.

Tell us about your career journey

I started out my career working in Sterile Processing at Ohio State University learning the ins and outs of the operating room world. I came to agilon health in December 2017 with no experience at all in the model or even how insurance companies or primary care doctors work. I started out in the medical management side in an entry level role but quickly learned how the model worked. I took an interest in membership and attribution half way through 2018 and have never looked back. I would say my advice for anyone looking to make an impact would be, never say no to anything, be ready to jump in however you can and always learn along the way.

Tell us about your schooling/educational background

After graduating high school, I went to OSU main campus in the Fall of 2010, back when they had quarters. I worked 3 jobs during the summer and a part-time job in school and quickly realized it would not be enough to pay for my schooling without loans. To avoid doing this, I took a full-time job as a storekeeper at OSU Wexner Medical Center and worked there for 7 years. They paid for my schooling, but I was only able to go to school part-time. During the 7 long years of working nights and going to school during the day to get my undergraduate degree, there were many times I wanted to quit. However, my wife Tiffany was my rock to push me through. I graduated with a degree in Biological Engineering and I am a few weeks away from acquiring my MBA as well.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy watching and playing sports. As well as rooting on the Blue Jackets. I also enjoy home projects and creating custom built furniture pieces in my spare time.

Tell us about your career journey

I’ve been an LVN for a little over 26 years. I decided to become a nurse at a young age. My little brother was born with Spina Bifida and had to go through multiple specialists and multiple surgeries. His pediatric nurse called him a little miracle baby.  She was a wonderful support for my family.  I wanted to help my brother and wanted to be like that nurse.

Since becoming a nurse I’ve had jobs in skilled nursing facilities and hospitals and ultimately became supervisor for a private practice in San Diego. I was recommended to agilon health from a former employee 5 years ago.  I have had wonderful guidance from everyone here at agilon health. I love this company and all the support I’ve received. I hope to grow even more and help others obtain growth in their positions with the company.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to spend my spare time with my family. We go for walks, play board games and enjoy watching movies together.
